My name is Hristian, but I go by Chris. I was born and raised in Bulgaria and moved to the US when I was 21 – ready to conquer the fashion world. I’m a professional cosmetologist, wig maker, and all-around artist, specializing in hair painting, fashion colors, and blonding.

My latest obsession is wig making and coloring because it allows me to transform someone within minutes. My main muse is Lady Gaga and her amazingly eclectic sense of fashion. I love to change and experiment with my looks, and my main goal as a stylist is to help people embrace change and be brave to express their true selves.

1. Q: What’s the best way to get in touch if I’m running late or need to reschedule?

A: Text (443) 280-9675 or Email me at iammmonsterlocks@gmail.com. Instagram DMs are NOT considered an official form of communication and WILL NOT count as proper notification to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Calling is the least reliable way to get in touch because I do not answer the phone outside of my business hours or while I’m with a client. Unless you leave a voicemail and tell me what you are interested in, I will consider it a spam call and will not be reaching out.

2. Q: Can I book without a credit card?

A: No. To schedule a new service, you must enter a valid credit card. If you fail to do so your appointment will be canceled immediately.

3. Q: Which services require a prior consultation?

A: Any type of extensions, all fashion and fantasy colors. Any type of color correction or drastic change from one color to another.

4. Q: Are all consultations free?

A: Yes, unless we perform a test strand. In that case, you will be asked to pay between $5-$15 based on the hair length and type of color test we do.

5. Q: What is the “Mystery Color” service?

A: It is a unique service I offer to adventurous and open-minded people. You pay a discounted rate of $220 and get over 4 hours of creative coloring done. The catch is that you give me full creative freedom to select the colors and do something fun based on the current state of your hair. Haircuts and styling, beyond blow drying, are not included.

6. Q: If I’m getting color done, do I have to fill out and sign the release form?

A: Yes, no color service will be performed if you fail to sign it before the time of the appointment or refuse to do so when asked. The appointment will be canceled and you will be charged 50% of the booked service.

7. Q: How do I avoid cancellation fees?

A: Reschedule or cancel your appointment 48 hours or longer before the scheduled time. If you fail to give me a timely notice and are a no-show for your appointment, you will be charged 50% of the booked service or services!

8. Q: What is considered late for my appointment?

A: Up to 15 minutes is acceptable. Between 15 and 30 minutes we may have to reschedule to the next available appointment to avoid cancellation fees. Anything over 30 minutes without any notice is automatically considered a no-show and you will be charged 50% of the booked service or services. This will also result in you being banned from booking future appointments.

9. Q: What if I have symptoms of Covid-19?

A: Cancel your appointment as soon as you experience the first symptoms. Please, keep in mind that if you display any symptoms of fever, shortness of breath, or high temperature, your appointment will be canceled immediately.

10. Q: How early should I cancel my appointment if something unexpected happens?

A: As soon as you know that you will not be able to come to your appointment. Please consider the fact that I only book a limited amount of people a week and by letting me know early enough, you give me the chance to fill up the spot and keep my business open.

11. Q: Is your studio trans/queer-friendly?

A: YES! Regardless of your gender, identity, or sexuality, you are welcome to my world of color! No racism, bigotry, transform, homophobia, xenophobia, or any other form of hateful behavior or speech is allowed in my space and it will not be tolerated. I want my studio to be known as a safe space for any type of self-expression.

12. Q: Where should I park?

A: There is an underground parking garage on the side of the building with an entrance off of NE 9th Ave. The device to validate your ticket is in the hallway by the bathrooms, which will validate two hours of your stay so make sure to bring the garage ticket with you. You can also street park and pay the meter or use the Parking Kitty app on your phone. When using the Parking Kitty app, make sure to select the correct zone. The underground parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays when you validate your ticket inside Sola. Street parking is free on Sundays as well.

13. Q: How do I pay for my service?

A: You can use the credit card on file or use another credit or debit card including American Express and Discover. I also accept cash or electronic payments like Venmo or PayPal. No checks are accepted.

14. Q: Is there a difference between a trim and a haircut?

A: No, a trim is a haircut. The price of a haircut is based on the length and density of your hair, the difficulty of the desired haircut, and the time it takes. The price of my cuts is not based on your gender presentation but on the type of hair and length. Hair has no gender!

15. Q: Is your hair care line vegan?

A: Yes! I carry Maria Nila, Olaplex, K18, and Pulp Riot and they’re all vegan and cruelty-free. Please consider that as an independent stylist, I am not a vendor and all retail is final and nonrefundable. Exchanges could be made if the product is sealed, unused, and in its original packaging.

16. Q: Are children allowed?

A: No. Only if there is an adult to accompany them while receiving the service and only when 10 years of age or older.

17. Q: I couldn’t find a babysitter. Can I bring my child with me?

A: No. Salons contain multiple hazardous objects and are not a suitable environment for unattended children. Please consider rescheduling or canceling at least 48 hours before the appointment to avoid cancellation fees.

18. Q: Can I bring my pet with me?

A: No, unfortunately, Sola Studios does not allow any pets unless they are trained service animals.

19. Q: It’s going to be a long service. Can I bring snacks or company?

A: Yes, please bring all the snacks you’d like especially for the long color services. I have a mini fridge with complimentary drinks as well. As far as company the studio is fairly small and generally cannot fit more than one extra person and unless for anxiety or mental health reasons, I prefer my appointments to be one on one.

20. Q: Do I get a refund if I’m unhappy with the result?

A: No! All services are final and non-refundable since most of my prices are based on the time spent on the service and the amount of products necessary to complete it. If you are for any reason, unhappy with the final result PLEASE contact me and I will be more than happy to work something out with you so I can get you closer to the desired result. If major adjustments are necessary, I will provide my labor complementary, but you would only be charged for the products necessary for the correction (no more than $50). There is no way to resolve an issue if I don’t know there is one. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
